Ex-MEND generals, commanders task Azazi on Jonathan’s safety

EX-GENERALS/Commanders of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger-Delta, MEND, Forum, yesterday, called on the National Security Adviser to the President, General Andrew Owoye Azazi (rtd) to be on his guard as some powerful forces were bent on destabilizing the government of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Chairman of the forum, Mr. Oyakoghan Josiah, alias Oyimi, disclosed this while speaking in Warri, adding that the group found out that the sponsors and perpetrators of the recent acts of violence in the country were anti-Goodluck Jonathan and anti-South-South.

The youth leader asserted that it was strange that the United Nations building in Abuja was bombed by Boko Haram at a time a South-South indigene is the President of the country, adding that it was a premeditated design by the those person behind the plot to undermine the present government.

He charged the NSA to take the matter seriously as the bombing was an affront on the President and security agencies in the country.

According to him, “The youths of Niger-Delta are watching with keen interest the recent security challenges bedeviling the country”.

The forum condoled the family of those who lost their loved ones in the bombing incident and appealed to Boko Haram members to channel their grievances to the appropriate headquarters for action, rather than take laws into their hands.
