UN invites Uduaghan to energy forum

15 September 2011, Sweetcrude, Asaba- Delta State governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, has been invited by United Nations Secretary-General, Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, to participate in the United Nations Private Sector Forum on Sustainable Energy for All roundtable discussion.

The forum will focus on strategies to combat climate change and increased share of renewable energy options in the energy mix by 2030.

The UN roundtable discussion, hosted by Mr. Ki-Moon will bring together leaders across the world in public and private sector as part of efforts of the UN scribe to achieve three major goals: universal access to modern energy services, improving energy efficiency by 40 per cent and producing 30 per cent of the world’s energy from renewable resources.

Uduaghan, Vice Chairman of Africa and Middle East of R20, Region of Climate Action, a group led by ex-California Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, is also billed to attend the Governing Board and General Assembly meetings of the group.
