27 September, 2011, Sweetcrude, WARRI- THE management of troubled Delta Steel Company, DSC, Delta State, yesterday, expressed surprise that Indian workers on hunger strike, since last week, over pay off, were still pressing ahead with their “embarrassing” action when some of them had allegedly been paid their entitlements.

Acting Public Affairs Manager of the company, Mr. Kes Agbosa disclosed that one of the protesting workers, Mr. Ashok Bhute, who declared a total hunger strike till death on Monday, was paid his entitlements last Saturday, two days before his latest action.

He said a number of Indian workers, who have occupied the lobby of the steel complex for some days running, have also been settled by the management and wondered why they were bent on embarrassing the company.

According to him, “Those who have not been settled will be paid their entitlements in the shortest possible time, the number is decreasing and I don’t see why they should embark on this kind of action against the company”.
