01 February 2012, Sweetcrude, WARRI – OPERATIVES of the Joint Task Force (JTF), Monday, paraded four suspected oil thieves along the Burutu waterways with a fully loaded wooden mammy boat, containing products suspected to be locally refined diesel.

Commander of the 3rd Battallion, Effurun Barracks, Colonel Nwankwo Osita, who paraded the suspects, said his command was prepared to flush out all miscreants and economic saboteurs from the state.

He warned other miscreants and economic saboteurs to look for legitimate means of survival or be ready to face the laws of the land.

Osita said that the oil thieves were apprehended by his men on regular patrol, assuring that they would be handed over to appropriate authorities for prosecution after thorough investigation.

The suspects alleged that it was greed and lack of job that forced them into the illegal business.

They alleged that they went into the business for quick money.
