Presidency charges indigenous firms on local content development

18 September 2012, Sweetcrude, LAGOS – SPECIAL Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Technical Matters, Mr. Sullivan Akachukwu Nwakpo, has called on indigenous Nigerian companies to tap the potentials of the Nigerian Content Act, to boost Nigeria’s development and growth.

Nwakpo spoke at Naval Dockyard in Lagos at the christening of the field support support vessel, DSV Avianna.

He said the Nigerian Content Law would not be useful if indigenous operators are unable to take full advantage of potentials the law, stressing: “I am sure that there are so many Nigerians, who have sufficient funds to do better than what we are seeing today but they appear not to have picked the courage to believe that there is a law signed by the president that actually works”.
