Norway’s Aker bags Eni’s $50m contract in Angola

17 October 2012, Sweetcrude, LUANDA – NORWAY’s Aker Solutions has been handed a $50 million umbilicals contract at Eni’s long-delayed offshore play in Angola.

Aker said Wednesday, it will, under the contract, build and supply 34 kilometres of steel tube umbilicals for the west hub of Block 15/06 off Angola.

The development project is situated in deep water about 350 kilometres north-west of Angola’s capital Luanda and 130 km west of Soyo.

The main field is Sangos with two satellite fields, Cinguvu and Ngoma.

The umbilicals will be manufactured at Aker’s Moss facility in Norway with delivery in the first quarter of 2014.

Equipment delays have set back first production at the Eni-operated Block 15/06 which is currently being drilled.
