Anadarko set to probe for oil in South Africa

07 November 2012, Sweetcrude, JOHANNESBURG – US company, Anadarko Petroleum is planning to oil exploration off South Africa as it signs up for seismic survey off the country.

Anadarko has inked the deal with Dolphin Geophysical to acquire around 6250 square kilometres of 2D seismic off South Africa.

The vessel owner will put the Artemis Atlantic on the job starting in December.

Anadarko already has operations up and running in nearby Mozambique but this is its first move on its South African play where it is partnered by PetroSA.
