Jasper drillership moving to Congo

26 March 2013, Brazaville – Singapore’s Jasper Investments says its drillership, Jasper Explorer, is on its way to the Republic of Congo.

The drillership has been chartered by China National Offshore Oil Company (CNOOC) for about $33 million to drill two firm wells off the country, with the option for one additional well.

Jasper had originally stated that the rig was expected to start operations this month. the company, however, said,Tuesday, that the vessel was now mobilising for the journey to Congo and would be arriving the coastal city of Point Noire by the middle of April to prepare for drilling operations.
