NDPHC delivers projects in Anambra,Edo, Enugu,Delta states

29 March 2013, Abuja – Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited, NDPHC, owners of National Integrated Power Projects, NIPP, has delivered eight (8) distribution projects in south-east and South-South region of the country.

Managing Director of the Company Mr. James Olotu at the commissioning of the projects said NIPP Projects are meant to provide improved Power supply to all parts of the Country.

“We have said that this year will be a year of bumper harvest with NIPP projects.No part of the country is left out, so we will continue to commission projects as they are completed in different parts of the country” Olotu stated.

A statement issued by Deputy General Manager and Head of Communication & Public relations, Mr. Yakubu Lawal quoted Mr. Olotu as saying. “We are committed to the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan and that of the vice President Arc. Namadi Sambo who also double as Chairman NDPHC to deliver all distribution projects to Nigerians by end of June this year”

Mr .Lawal listed the projects commissioned in four states to include, 15MVA 33/11 distribution injection, Sub station in Uluku Edo, state, 7.5MVA 33/11 distribution substation each in Isele Uku and Illah in Delta states respectively.

Also commissioned were; 1×7.5MVA injection sub station each in Orafite and Amichi in Anambra states.

In Enugu state Mr. Olotu commissioned a 2×2.5MVA Eke distribution injection sub station and 7.5MVA distribution injection substation in Trade fair area of Enugu as well as 7.5MVA injection sub station in New Heaven, Enugu state.

Managing Director/Chief Operating Officer of Benin Electricity Distribution company, Mr. Effiong Umoren and his Enugu Distribution company counterpart Mr suleiman Yahaya who were on the commissioning team to assist Mr. Olotu, expressed appreciation to the three tiers of government for investing in NIPP, pointing out that the commissioned projects will boost supply to the consumers and relief existing facilities that were over loaded.

Mr Olotu also visited on going transmission projects in Asaba, Delta state, Awka in Anambra state, Ugwuaji and New Heaven in Enugu state.

Meanwhile as part of its project delivery strategy, Chairman of the NDPHC Board has slated a pre commissioning milestones meeting in his office between NDPHC Management, the Contractors and Project Consultants for end of April 2013.

Vice President Sambo had in a January 26 meeting with the distribution and Transmission contractors given them uptill end of June 2013 to deliver all distribution projects and December 2013 for all Transmission projects.
