A drill stem test was carried out over the Intra Isongo reservoir interval and successfully flowed condensate-rich gas from a perforated section of 29 metres out of a total of 70 metres of net pay.
Bowleven said the interval flowed at an average rate of 37 million cubic feet of gas and 4664 barrels of condensate per day on a one-inch choke.
It added that further liquids, including liquid petroleum gas, could be recovered from the interval via secondary processing.
Bowleven completed its first drill stem test of the IM-5 well earlier this month over the Middle Isongo interval which flowed at a maximum rate of 23 MMcfd and 3155 bpd of condensate.
“We are delighted with the overall results from the IM-5 well which have surpassed our expectations,” Bowelven chief executive Kevin Hart said.
“The flow rates that have been achieved on test demonstrate substantial well deliverability from both the Middle and Intra Isongo intervals and further strengthen the foundation for the planned phased development of Etinde.“
The IM-5 well was drilled in the Etinde permit to a depth of 3430 metres, in a water depth of about 56 metres, and was designed to appraise the reservoir and fluid properties of the Middle Isongo sands.
