Oil-theft28 June 2013, Lagos — Oil workers under the auspices of Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, have given the Federal Government seven-day ultimatum to address the issues afflicting the nation’s oil and gas industry.

The workers said they will proceed on indefinite strike if the government fails to address their demands. They conveyed the warning, Friday, at a strategic meeting in Lagos and resolved to commence a three-day warning strike commencing from today to express their determination on the industrial action.

PENGASSAN’s general-secretary Bayo Olowoshile said in the statement that at expiration of the ultimatum on July 4, PPMC and Department of Petroleum Resources would ensure that there is no loading of white products, while all servicing companies would proceed on full blown strike.

He said NNPC and all oil producers would have their offices and logistics shut down.
