Kenya’s Thika Power Station now up and running

power_transformer20 August 2013, Nairobi – Residents of Thika and Nairobi, Kenya, will have more reliable power, with the 87 megawatts new Thika Power station now up and running.

While touring the 2.3 billion shillings facility, Kenya Power’s acting CEO Ben Chumo said various substations and power lines that will facilitate delivery of power from the facility to customers have also been completed at a cost of 2.5 billion shillings. The station is still undergoing various commissioning tests.
