08 October 2013, Makurdi – Members of the House of Representatives have promised a special budget for the moribund NNPC-PPMC Depot in Makurdi, Benue State.
The House members who were on a facility tour of the Depot, as part of its oversight function said the 2014 budget would contain a special allocation for the revamping of the depot.
Chairman House Committee on Petroleum Resources Downstream, Hon. Dakuku Peterside and the committee was dismayed at the dilapidated state in which they found the facility.
“We have noted with serious concern and dismay that a strategic Depot of this importance that serves seven states is left to wallow in a sorry state without functional facilities.
“However, let me assure you that we’ll do all it takes within our legislative powers to ensure that Makurdi Depot is back to life for the socio-economic benefit of the people,” Hon. Peterside said.
