Angola: State Secretary checks power situation

angola 220 November 2013, Luanda – The Secretary of State for Energy, Joaquim Ventura, is paying this Tuesday a working visit to the central Benguela province, aimed to check the power situation in the region. According to his agenda that reached Angop, Joaquim Ventura is expected to visit the Lomaum-Biópio power transportation line in Bocoio municipality and the land for the construction of the power sub-station of Bocoio.

Still on Tuesday the official is working in Lobito municipality, where he is going to visit the power station, sub-station of new Biópio and Quileva, as well as to learn about the installation of two 15-megawatt generator groups in Quileva. In Benguela municipality, Joaquim Ventura will check the sub-stations of Ombaka, Cavaco and Benguela South.

Joaquim Ventura is returning to Luanda on Tuesday afternoon, after meeting the provincial government to discuss rural electrification. Benguela is a province of Angola. Its capital is Benguela and it has an area of 31,788 km² and a population of approximately 600,000. Municipalities in the province include Lobito, Bocoio, Balombo, Ganda, Cubal, Caimbambo, Baia-Farta and Chongorói.
