Also paraded were petrol tankers allegedly used by the vandals.
The state commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Shem Obafaiye, while parading the suspects, said four of them were arrested on November 13, at Odo-Oba in Ogbomoso South local government area of Ogbomoso South while the other one was arrested overnight.
He said after intelligence gathering, a commercial bus marked Lagos XB 359 RSD conveying 135 empty kegs and four vandals was also arrested.
Obafaiye gave the names of the vandals as Mathew Kehinde, 35; Ayo Ajayi, 30; Suleiman Yahaya, 35, and Olaniyi Ezekiah, 20.
In the same vein, he said a Leyland petroleum tanker marked Oyo XB 734 YRA was arrested overnight by the officers of the command at Ajagba village in Oyo East Local Government Area of the state.
“A 15,000 litres petroleum tanker filled with PMS was apprehended and one Kazeem Ajao was arrested in connection with the petrol tanker. Aside from that, we equally apprehended another 33,000 litres petroleum tanker filled with 5,000 litres,” he added.
The commandant assured that in pursuit of their mandate, the officers of the command would not relent in efforts at ensuring that pipeline vandalisation is completely wiped out.
One of the suspects, Ayo Ajayi, the owner of commercial bus said he received a telephone call around 1:00 am that his bus had been apprehended and had to rush there after which he was arrested by officers of the command.
