Angola: Power from Ngove Dam to reach Bailundo by 2014

Power transmission line28 November 2013, Luanda – The town Bailundo municipality, 75 kilometres north of the capital of the central Huambo province, will as from 2014 benefit from electricity generated from the Ngove Dam.

This was announced by the Angolan State Secretary for Energy, Joaquim Ventura.

The official was speaking to the press on Wednesday during his visit of assessment of the locality.

Joaquim Ventura also announced the start soon of the works of construction of the power transportation line and installation of a substation.

According to him, the electrification of Bailundo town is among the top priorities of the Government.

He noted that the project will initially focus on the construction of a power station for three thousand household connections.

With the conclusion of the project in Bailundo town, the State Secretary said, the programme will also cover the communes of Bailundo municipality.

The State Secretary for Energy is also expected in the municipalities of Cachiungo and Chicala-Cholohanga with the same purpose.
