Egypt, KSA ink three agreements of electricity linkage

Saudi & Egypt flags14 December 2013, Cairo – Prime Minister Hazem El-Beblawi, Minister of Energy Ahmed Imam and the Saudi Minister of Water and Electricity Abdullah Al Hussayen will attend inking three important agreements regarding the electricity linkage between Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

The linkage project is scheduled to come on stream as of 2016 and the operational tests will be held in 2015. 3,000 megawatts will be swapped between the two countries. The project will cost about $1.6 billion.
