New money transfer platform launched in Nigeria

TransferBee14 January 2014, Lagos — TRANSFERBEE, the United Kingdom-based company, has officially launched a new online service to offer cheap and convenient money transfer from the European country to Nigeria.

According to officials, the new platform would enable Nigerians living in the UK to send money back home cheaper than through banks or other systems.

The company said it had chosen popular social website, Eskimi, as the main channel for the launch of new financial service in Nigeria.

“We have chosen Eskimi to launch our service in Nigeria for their high reach and we are happy to experience extremely high engagement of Eskimi users.

“In a month time we have grown our fanclub in Eskimi to more than 55 000 fans and Facebook likes to more than 27 000 using display media and Eskimi engagement tools like treasure hunt,” Titas Bledis, Chief Executive Officer of Transferbee said.

Eskimi officials said the company had launched display media, engagement tools, data collection and reverse promotion campaign for Transferbee.

Vytas Paukstys, Chief Executive Officer of Eskimi, said the key goal of the campaign was to introduce a new brand in Nigeria, inform money receivers about better conditions to receive money.

He said the campaign also had innovative tools to reach and engage with the money senders from UK, the country Transferbee operates from.

“The engagement of our users and positive take-up of the service shows the need of new and innovative tools for international money transfers in Nigeria,” said Bledis.
