NSCDC parades two solar power vandals in Enugu

Solar panelo7 March 2014, Enugu – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Enugu State Command, on Friday paraded two suspects accused of vandalism of solar power street lights in Enugu.

The suspects allegedly vandalised the lights installed by the Chairman of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area, Chief Festus Ozoemena.

He said the suspects also admitted that they vandalised 42 street lights in the area and sold the batteries at the rate of N1,500 each.

The commandant listed the affected communities as Amaugwu, where 30 lights were vandalised in December 2013, Amambugwu and Amadefaku where four each were vandalised in January and Ogbede where three were vandalised.
