20 March 2014, Luanda – Angola has been recording advances in the past years in the nuclear energy sector and achieved the yellow level, intermediate category given by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
This was said on Wednesday in Luanda by the minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges.
The official said so while speaking at the opening of the workshop on “Energy Planning Project “, having highlighted the progresses recorded in the creation of a Nuclear Energy Law by a regular body of the sector.
The official also highlighted the advances in the creation of the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Water (Minea).
The AERB, he said, has as its main tasks to control and regulate all activities linked to atomic energy in the country.
The workshop closing Wednesday evening is being used to present the long-term Sustainable Energy Plan which is under the new cycle of the 2014/2015 Biennial Project.
