Govt processing outstanding N110bn marketers’ subsidy claims – IPMAN

Fuel tankers22 March 2014, Abuja – The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) on Friday disclosed that the federal government is currently processing an outstanding N110 billion owed to marketers of petroleum products as claims for subsidy on imported products into the country.

IPMAN also took out time to condemn an alleged attempt by one of its suspended officials, Chief Obasi Lawson to create disharmony within its members following his recent declaration as the authentic president of the association. It noted that Lawson had obtained a court injunction from a federal high court in Port Harcourt to support his claims.

IPMAN stated that Obasi who was its South-eastern regional head, was suspended in December 2013 for anti-union activities but he recently got a court declaration of himself as the association’s national president which IPMAN has equally challenged.

President of IPMAN, Aminu Abdulkadir told reporters at a press briefing in Abuja that all of the national officers of the association have unanimously condemned Lawson’s allegedly recent anti-union activities.
