Jonathan sacks NNPC Company Secretary

NNPC headquarters08 April 2014, Sweetcrude, Abuja – President Goodluck Jonathan has sacked the Coordinator, Legal Services and Company Secretary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Mr. Anthony Madichie, from office.

A statement by the Special Adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, which announced the sack, did not indicate any reason for the action.

The statement said the President has approved the appointment of Mr. Ikechukwu Oguine as Madichie’s replacement. Madichie has been on the post at the NNPC since February 2011.

Oguine who has over 29 years of legal experience, hails from Anambra State like his predecessor, and was previously the General Counsel of Chevron Nigeria Limited. He has also been a partner in Advisory Legal Consultants, a Law Firm specialising in oil, gas, power and mining.
