Prosafe gains UK charter at Judy

conocophillips_logo14 April 2014, News Wires – Norwegian flotel contractor Prosafe has gained a four-month contract with US oil major ConocoPhillips to deploy its accommodation unit Safe Bristolia at the Judy field in the UK North Sea.

The accommodation support vessel is to start operations at the Houston-headquartered explorer’s gas field in May for a firm period of four months, Oslo-listed Prosafe said.

From September the Safe Bristolia will relocate to BG Group’s Everest platform for a firm period of around three months under an amended schedule to a two-part contract signed in January 2013.

Prosafe said that the overall work programme for the vessel had increased by 24 days at a value of around $8.3 million.

Meanwhile, Prosafe has also gained a 43-day extension to its contract with Swiber for the Safe Astoria off Indonesia.

The vessel has been working with Swiber Offshore Construction at offshore gas gathering facilities in the Natuna Sea.

The extension, agreed at the same dayrate as the original 60-day contract, is worth $4.7 million.
