Oil thieves should be amputated- Rev. Dr. Philip

Oil theft, oil thiefDivine Udoma 13 May 2014, Sweetcrude, Port Harcourt –  The Superintendent General of the Calvary Deeds International Church, Reverend Doctor Chindo Philip has advocated amputation as punishment for crude 0il theft and illegal refining so as to serve as deterrent to others.

The clergy man, while delivering a keynote address at the Grassroots Environmental awareness and enlightenment campaign against crude oil theft and illegal refining in Bori, Khana Local Government Area in Rivers State, proposed possible solutions to illegal oil activities in the country.

“All relevant laws should be reviewed by the government and stiffer penalties enhanced and upheld. The joint Military Task Force and other agencies be made to patrol the sea and pipelines for effective security” he said.

He also advocated that consequences of illegal oil activities should be taught in secondary schools.
