Angola to tender 12 offshore oil blocks in 2015

Exploration Rig23 June 2014, Luanda — Twelve Angolan offshore oil blocks will be put up for tender by the Sociedade Nacional de Combústiveis de Angola? (Sonangol) in 2015.

The information about the tender of the blocks situated in the Lower Congo Basin (five) and Mamibe Basin (seven) was released by the Oil minister, Botelho de Vasconcelos, during the 21st World Petroleum Congress that closed Thursday in Moscow, Russia.

On the occasion, the minister spoke of Angola’s oil potential and reaffirmed the country’s intention to reach a two million barrel/day production in 2015 and keep this output for five years.

The Angolan delegation to the congress included the minister of Science and Technology and the CEO of Sonangol, Cândida Teixeira and Francisco de Lemos José Maria, respectively.
