Faulty transmission breaker behind power outage in Port Harcourt – PHED

Power transmission gridMkpoikana Udoma 13 August 2014, Sweetcrude, Port Harcourt – The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHED, says the power outage being experienced by her customers at Rumuomasi, Rumuola, GRA Phase 2, Bori Camp, Airforce Base and Oraazi in Port Harcourt metropolis in the past one week, is due to a faulty transmission breaker at its transmission station, Z2 Oginigba, after the re-conductoring of her 132kv lines.

This is contained in a statement issued, Tuesday, by the Public Affairs Manager of the PHED, Mr. John Onyi.

The PHED who appealed to the affected customers for understanding, in the statement, reiterated that, “Engineers from the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, are working relentlessly on the faulty Breaker since then and it is hopeful to be completed on or before evening, tomorrow Wednesday 13th August, 2014”.

The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company in the statement also appealed for the patience and understanding of the affected customers, while assuring to restore normal power supply as soon as the job is completed.
