Schneider Electric unveils first experience centre in Africa

09 December 2014, Abuja – In its bid to enhance the legendary reliability brand promise of slogan of its products, grow its access channels, reduce counterfeiting and make its products readily available to customers, Schneider Electric, has unveiled what it called the APC by Schneider Electric experience centre, the first of its kind in Africa, at the famous Computer Village in Lagos.

The APC by Schneider Electric’s experience centre showcases Schneider Electric’s IT solutions for home and business networks to complex data solutions including cooling, IT security and data centre system, as well as data management software. The centre will also serve as a hub for UPS test and swap, as well as for sales and service enquiries.

Schneider-ElectricSpeaking at the event, the Lagos State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mr. Adebiyi Mabadeje commended Schneider Electric for the initiative.

He described the location as strategic considering the prime position of the popular computer village in IT business in Nigeria and West Africa.

“The Lagos State Government is happy to play host to the experience centre. As a state known for excellence and setting the pace for others, we are pleased to know that this experience centre is the first in Africa. We have no doubt that Schneider Electric’s strategic decision to locate the centre at the computer village was a sound one as it will not only offer Nigerians and West Africans access to genuine IT solutions, but it will help improve the economy of Lagos State through job creation and revenue generation,” said Mabadeje.

Mabadeje pledged the commitment of Lagos State Government to supporting Schneider Electric as well as other businesses in the state towards ensuring the economic growth of the state.

Also commenting on the initiative, the Vice President, IT Business, Schneider Electric, Mr. Ayo Adegboye explained that the experience centre underscores Schneider Electric’s commitment to Nigeria and reflects the company’s effort to ensure that its products and services are available to Nigerians.

Speaking further on why Schneider Electric established the centre, Adegboye said “this service centre further exemplifies Schneider Electric’s commitment to our customers and support for their business in Nigeria and the West African sub region”.
“Through this service centre, our customers can be assured of ease of access to our world class products and services,” he added.
