Okpe scholars allege marginalisation in NNPC contract

NNPC-logo-335x27020 March 2015, Lagos – Okpe Scholars Association World Wide has protested the non-inclusion of Okpe Kingdom in the pipeline surveillance contract awarded to various ethnic nationalities by the Federal Government and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.

A statement by the President of the association, Chief Williams Avwigborighe and the Secretary, Mr. Lucky Oghomiriona, said Okpe Kingdom had been marginalised, adding that the kingdom plays host to Seplat Petroleum Development Company Limited, Nigeria Gas Company Limited, SPDC and others.

He added that the history of these companies’ activities within the kingdom had been very peaceful, owing to the peace-loving nature of the Okpe people.
