11 April 2015, Lagos – The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has called on politicians to replicate the peace experienced during the presidential election at Saturday’s Gubernatorial and Houses of Assembly Elections.
cautioned politicians to stop heating up the polity ahead of the Saturday gubernatorial and Houses of Assembly elections.
The association expressed pleasure at the exemplary display of sportsmanship by President Jonathan and urged all politicians in the country to emulate his singular action that doused the tension during the presidential election.
Speaking on recent political events in most of the states preceding the Saturday’s gubernatorial election, the PENGASSAN President, Comrade Francis Johnson commended the spirit of a good democrat demonstrated by Jonathan, who congratulated the President Elect, General Buhari and conceded defeat even before the announcement of the results by INEC.
The Association commended all Nigerians for their peaceful conduct and patience at ensuring that they cast their votes for candidates of their choice and urged them to also remain peaceful during the coming gubernatorial and Houses of Assembly elections.
He also lauded the Professor Attahiru Jega-led INEC for its unwavering determination of ensuring that the presidential election was free, fair and credible despite the few challenges encountered during the election.
Comrade Johnson called on INEC to address all challenges encountered during the presidential election to deliver a hitch free election during the Saturday Gubernatorial election.
