Canadian Natural lowers output guidance

17 June 2015, News Wires – Calgary-based producer Canadian Natural Resources said its second-quarter production will be reduced as a result of wildfires in Alberta, while the company has also completed planned maintenance at its Horizon oil sands project.

Canadian Natural said it would take an approximate 7500-barrel-per-day hit on quarterly production as a result of the fire that shut in output at the Primrose and Kirby South projects, Reuters reported.

Full-year production guidance remains unchanged.

Meanwhile, the company’s 125,000-bpd Horizon oil sands project resumed synthetic crude output on Monday after maintenance work was completed.

The turnaround was extended by five days after an unexpected build up of solids in fractionator, but Horizon is expected to ramp up to full volumes later this week, Reuters reported.
