08 July 2015, Luanda — At least 1.06 million electrical energy meters will be installed in the country by 2017, an investment estimated at USD 432 million, announced Tuesday in Luanda the minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges.

The Cabinet minister was speaking at the end of the first ordinary meeting of the National Council of Social Consultation, chaired by the Vice-President of the Republic, Manuel Vicente.

The government official said that the project already includes the construction of a plant, which will start producing energy meters in the country within 180 days.

The official said that with the prepaid system, the customer purchases a certain credit, as it is done with mobile phones, and its depends on consumption needs.
