Crude oil theft: Ghanaians may be involved – President Buhari

10 September 2015, Accra — President Muhammadu Buhari has hinted that his government may have uncovered some Nigerian oil companies conniving with Ghanaian oil firms to steal crude oil from the country.

Addressing members of the Nigerian community in Ghana on Monday during his one day state visit, Buhari revealed that he had received reports that some oil companies in Ghana were bringing Nigerian crude oil into the Ghanaian system and vowed to deal with the perpetrators.

“We are going to pursue this information and find out if it is legally done. We will try to get to the bottom of it and prosecute the companies or those persons, who are involved,” he declared.

President, All Nigerian Community, Mr. Moses Owarho commended Buhari for his tenacity of purpose in fostering good governance which was anchored on economic reconstruction and the restoration of the dignity of the nation.
