Egypt: Nexans wins Taurus-Libra gig

17 September 2015, News Wires – Nexans has secured a deal to deliver static umbilicals for subsea development of the Taurus and Libra fields as part of BP’s West Nile Delta off Egypt.

offshore rigThe supplier will provide power and fibre-optic cables as well as lines for transport of hydraulic and chemical fluids under the contract, for which a value was not disclosed, with deliveries to start next year.

It is part of a 10-year framework agreement earlier signed by Nexans with the UK supermajor.

BP is developing the subsea fields in a water depth of around 800 metres under the $12 billion project in which it is partnered by Dea, owned by Russia’s LetterOne group.
