23 September 2015, News Wires – Charter deals have been secured by a pair of Norwegian shipowners for offshore vessels in different parts of the world in the midst of a market slump.
Oslo-listed Eidesvik Offshore has gained work for its construction vessel Viking Neptun on Tullow Oil’s under-development Tweneboa-Ntomme-Enyenra (TEN) field off Ghana.
The firm contract awarded to Eidesvik’s joint venture with Technip is for 50 days and has an extension option for an equivalent period, with work due to start in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, Reach Subsea said it would perform remote-operated vehicle services for the TEN contract under an existing three-year pact signed with Eidesvik last year.
In addition, Oslo-listed Reach has picked up contracts totalling 60 days for its inspection, maintenance and repair vessel Edda Fonn to carry out seabed mapping, light construction and seabed intervention in the North Sea.
