Makinde disclosed this in Warri when Urhobo staff of the commission hosted him and DESOPADEC commissioners of Urhobo ethnic extraction.

His words, “Before my tenure will come to an end, the commission must produce not less than 20 commercial pilots. In spite of the dwindling revenue of the state occasion by the drastic fall in the oil prices, which is also affecting the revenue of the commission, our focus will be on human capital development of our youths, women and other sectors of the economy.”

The managing director said the commission would adopt 50-50 ratio for both men and women in its youth development programme, adding that the present board of commission would review and complete viable projects inherited from the previous board and also execute new projects.

Speaking, president of the DESOPADEC Urhobo Staff Association, Comrade Omoemu Oriogbe, expressed happiness at the appointment of Chief Makinde as managing director and other Urhobos as commissioners and appealed to him to appropriately address staff welfare.
