Fuel scarcity persists.

Fuel scarcity persists in Kogi.

Worst hit are Lokoja, the state capital, Abejukolo in Omala Local Government Area and Yagba, as black marketers took over the streets of Lokoja yesterday, selling the product for as high as N200 per litre. Adulterated products were said to have flooded the market, as marketers move to capitalize on the scarcity to maximize profit and exploit consumers.

When Vanguard visited some service stations yesterday, many of them were locked up and it was alleged that the major marketers had emptied their tanks to black marketers due to what they alleged as  highhandedness of officers of the the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR.

A major marketer told Vanguard that it was impossible to sell products at the regulated price, adding that they were currently loading the product at over N80 per litre.
