Cameroon: Bowleven ‘pleased’ with Moambe flow test results

29 November 2015, News Wires – Bowleven Chief Executive Kevin Hart stated that the company was “pleased with the positive initial flow test results” at the Moambe well on the Bomono permit in Cameroon, which indicated a maximum stabilized flow rate of 7.3 million cubic feet per day through a 48/64 choke with no signs of depletion.

As a result, the well has now moved into the planned extended test period, which is intended to confirm sustainable deliverability to a proposed gas-to-power development scheme. Initial indications are that under such a development scenario the Moambe well would be capable of delivering around four to five million cubic feet per day. As testing continues at Moambe, the company is also continuing to progress plans to commence extended well testing at the Zingana well.

Kevin Hart, Bowleven’s chief executive, commented in a company statement:

“We are pleased with the positive initial flow test results on Moambe which give us increased confidence in the commercial viability of future development plans at Bomono. We look forward to the Zingana test augmenting the results at Moambe and to progressing gas sales negotiations.”
