29 ships carrying petroleum products, foods expected

05 January 2015, Lagos29 ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected to arrive Apapa and Tin-Can Island ports in Lagos from yesterday to Jan. 18, 2016.

ship-carrying-containers-at-the-Apapa-Port-Lagos-360x241The Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, stated this in its publication; ‘Shipping Position’, a copy of which was made available in Lagos.

NPA explained that the expected ships contained general cargoes, buck wheat, containers, fresh fish, containers, bulk rice and petrol.

The document said 12 other ships are waiting to berth with various goods at the port.

It said eight of the ships would berth with petrol, while others would berth with base oil, bulk gas and aviation fuel.

Seventeen  other ships are at the ports discharging buck wheat, general cargoes, steel products, soda ash, bulk gypsum, butane, containers, kerosene and petrol.
