Kunle Kalejaye ‎17 January 2016, Sweetcrude, Lagos – Electricity consumers within Eko Electricity Distribution Company, Eko DISCO, network will experience seven hours of power outage today (Sunday)

The power outage, according to the company, is caused by relocation of a transmission tower from one point to another by the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN.

In a statement in Lagos, the company’s Head, Corporate Communication, Mr. Godwin Idemudia, said the relocation of the tower was necessitated by the on-going dualisation and expansion of the Badagry-Lagos Expressway.

He said the tower to be relocated carries the Agbara-Ojo 132kv transmission lines one and two.

Areas to be affected areas by the outage, according to the statement, include  Naval Quarters, Okokomaiko, Ajangbadi, Cele-NICA, PPL and their environs.

The company appealed to its customers in the areas to be affected for understanding, noting that supply would be restored as soon as the tower relocation work was concluded.
