Nigeria: Japan spends $16.6m to refurbish Jebba Power Plant

14 February 2016, Sweetcrude, Abuja — The Japanese Government has expended $16.6 million on the Emergency Repair and Overhaul Works for the Jebba Hydro Power Station, as part of its aid to Nigeria’.

The Emergency Repair and Overhaul of the Jebba Hydro Power plant was recently completed and will contribute 100 megawatts to the national grid.

this was contained in a statement released by John Nwankwo, Senior Special Assistant/Advisor on Information and Culture in the Embassy of Japan in Nigeria, adding that the hand-over will take place on Monday February 15 at Jebba, Niger State.

Mr. Masaya Otsuka, the Deputy Chief of Mission of Japan in Nigeria will attend the hand-over ceremony.
