10 July 2016, Lagos – In furtherance to its commitment in reducing unemployment in the country, ExxonMobil has partnered with Foundation for Leadership Education for Development, FLED, to train 110 final year students of University of Lagos, UNILAG, in soft skills for 18 months.
The programme themed “Impartation of Soft Skills on Graduating Students” is programmed for students from the Faculty of Business Administration, UNILAG, with first class and second class upper, of excellent performances in their courses.
The Senior Partner/ CEO, J.Soji George & Co, a business and management consultant firm, Dr Olusoji George, said many Nigerian graduates lacked soft skills, adding that his firm, in conjunction with FLED are on the mission to empower UNILAG students and other interested students of various disciplines with a view to making them employable for employers.
He explained that, the students would be tutored for the next 18 months after their youths service. He also said that, many brilliant Nigerian graduates are not employable because of poor soft skills.
He said: “We would ensure we change their orientation on dressing, presentation, communication skills.”
