26 July 2016, Kaduna — The National President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Elder Chinedu Okoronkwo, has welcomed moves championed by some anti-graft agencies to probe accounts of the association
He said that probing the accounts of the IPMAN would entrench transparency in its affairs. Okoronkwo, who was on a familiarisation tour of depots in the country, said in Kaduna that IPMAN was delighted that the current administration has decided to investigate the accounts of the association with a view to setting records straight.
He said that the leadership of the association was in support of the ongoing fight against corruption and President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.
He identified corruption as the bane of development in Nigeria.
He said: “I want to assure those that have confidence in me that all properties of the association that were stolen would be recovered.
“We are also happy that investigations have also started into how a company, IPMAN investments, that we are all directors, did a business of over N10.9bn and the directors have not been informed of the business.”
He said that the day of reckoning has come for “the few cabal who have refused to let this nation have a breath of life,” thanking members of the association for the support they gave him.
