Rivers CP visits Indorama Petrochemicals, promises cooperation

Mkpoikana Udoma 03 April 2017, Sweetcrude, Port Harcourt – The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, CP Zaki Ahmed, at the weekend paid a visit to the Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Company, IEPL, in Eleme, near Port Harcourt, in continuation of his familiarisation tour around the state.

CP Ahmed, who is the 38th Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, is barely three weeks in the state He took over from CP Francis Odesanya who died in January in a hospital in India after a protracted illness.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Omoni Nnamdi, said the CP who was accompanied on the visit by senior police officers from the command, was received by the Managing Director of IEPL, Mr. Manish Mundra.
Nnamdi in the statement said Mundra with his management team conducted the Commissioner of Police round the company’s facilities, and briefed him on the operations of the company.
The statement also said that the CP promised to do his best to make the state safe and secure.
According to the statement, “In an interactive meeting with the CP, the Managing Director of IEPL, Mr. Manish Mundra, sought for the cooperation of the Command in providing enable environment for the operations of the company to thrive and commended the CP for the efforts of his men in fighting crime in the State.
“In his response the CP commended Mr. Manish Mundra and his management for the warm reception accorded him and his team and promised to provide adequate security for the company to operate and realize its full potentials.
“The CP also thanked them for finding Rivers State worthy to site such a gigantic project that is capable of sustaining the economy of the State and the Nation at large.”
