“This downward trend and collapse has been blamed on the degree of destruction on infrastructure and gas pipelines vandalism that has taken place through the years, as well as poor maintenance and upgrade of power installations across the country,” the report noted.

The System Operator (SO) of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) noted that were there no constraints, the electricity market would have supplied 7,562Mw to distribution companies (Discos) but the gas and line challenges keep holding down the power sector.
