The action by the members is coming on the heels of the face off between the House of Representatives and the Minister of Mines and Steel Development (MMSD), Dr. Kayode Fayemi, and his junior minister, Hon. Abubakar Bawa Bwari.

Fayemi who undertook the tour of the various plants and the harbour in the complex with the Minister of State, Hon. Abubakar Bawa Bwari, lamented that the huge national asset was left to rot, in spite of its potential to help boost the economy and create employment opportunities.
Wendong indicated the company’s interest to acquire ASCL, adding that they had discovered an iron ore site of high quality that can be explored to provide raw materials for the Ajaokuta Company and other steel processing companies in the country.
