Unable to hold its first meeting for the year last January, the next meeting of the CBN committee in charge of monetary policy was supposed to hold on either March 19 or 20.

The PPMC had written a petition to the EFCC, against some oil marketers who defaulted in payment for products supplied to them by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation through the PPMC, seeking help to recover the funds.

“Mr. Senate President, as I speak with you, those involved in Alison-Madueke’s clique are on the run and some are undergoing trial with her in the United Kingdom,” Magu revealed. He added, “They are on the run at the moment but we will get them.”
He said, “People now buy these dollars and keep them in their houses. The amount of dollars in Nigeria in cash is more than the amount of dollars in the whole of the USA. If you (EFCC) tell us, we can cooperate with you and tell you (about) the people hiding these monies.”
