“The NNPC Act is a law on itself and the National Assembly is the one responsible for enacting laws, so, if there is any remedy or solution; as one of the senators, the issue is look into the Act establishing these entities; NNPC,CBN etc.”

The PPMC boss called on marketers to desist from hoarding and diversion of petroleum products to neighbouring countries, stressing that the corporation was working hand-in-hand with the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) and other security agencies to sanction defaulting marketers.
“Any depot or filling stations that hoard products, we have been directed that it should be sold freely to Nigerians. Of course, the genesis of the whole problem was the proposed increase in price, but we have debunked that and people should not indulge in panic buying.”
Adeniran said the Corporation would always keep faith with its mandate of ensuring energy sufficiency, adding that the corporation has taken adequate measures to normalize products supply situation in the country.
As a fall-out of the on-going restructuring of the NNPC, it was agreed that Duke Oil be given the two products to sell on behalf of the corporation, in line with its mandate as an international trading company, as well as its wholly-owned subsidiary.
The GMD directed the Chief Operating Officers (COOs) of the Corporation to start immediate implementation of the policy framework, adding that they could revert to Management, should there be any grey areas requiring further intervention.
