NUPENG had, in a release dated 31 January, given a 15-day ultimatum to government over six labour issues between some of its members and their respective companies.
“Unless something is done to stem the tide of tankers breaking down or upturned, the situation will be difficult and the union will be left with no choice than to boycott some of the bad roads.”
“Motorists are suffering due to lack fuel but people are busy hoarding the product causing unnecessary queues and hardship on motorists. They now sell early in the morning and late at night. Apart from that, these erring filling stations are selling above pump price and they are under dispensing motorists between one to two liters,” he said.
Isong explained that the private depot owners were selling the product to marketers at N144 as against the approved rate of N133.28 at the NNPC depots.
