The West Africa-focused company made an application on Friday, shortly after the company announced its intention to list on a European exchange.
The company said a listing in Oslo was one of a number of options for the company and will be based on a number of factors.
African said the application for listing is pending the approval from the board of directors at the Oslo Stock Exchange.
Chairman Charles Matthews said an Oslo-listing was part of the company’s new era.
“We believe that it would be an excellent home base for African Petroleum Corporation as we look to continue our high impact exploration programme targeting over 5 billion barrels of oil in our licences offshore West Africa,” he said.
