16 November 2013, Cairo – Minister of Electricity and Energy Ahmed Emam uncovered that Al-Dabaa Nuclear Plant would be put out to global tender in January, asserting that the companies would make their offers to the government, which would consider their offers for a year. The contract would be signed on June 14th 2015 and the implementation of the plant would start in July 2017.
Minister Emam noted that the first unit of Al-Dabaa Nuclear Plant would come on stream by the end of 2021 with a total production capacity of 1000 megawatts.
The minister’s statements came after signing three new contracts to the value of EGP 325 million to establish Suez Power Plant with a production capacity of 650 megawatts.
